Celma 2352 Model-Preferent (Stam 15)
The ancestor was designated model right away. Her trot, both in the forehand and the hindquarters, was powerful and highly lifted. Her daughter Roelofje is by Alva 113 – among the first stallions who have left a very distinct mark on the breed – and her report reads as follows: “a sufficiently solid, elegantly built square harness and farm horse, smooth at the walk, with a sufficiently powerful, highly lifted trot in the forehand as well as in the hindquarters and a lively temperament”
One couldn’t wish for a better assessment. Ant is by the high-legged President. She measurers 1.61, 4 cm taller than her mother. President was also the father of Ynte 130. Following Ant, the breeding consistency in the pedigree is restored and is reflected in a range of designated mares. Four surviving lines originate from Ant. After Ant, the model mare Kee a daughter of Us Heit, is the next link. The star mare Penny is the outcome of a combination with Held 140 preferent. Celma descents from her, with Obscurant 150 pref. as father.
Celma As a foal, Celma won a second premium in 1944, the next year a first and as a two-year old, after being granted a first premium, she became youth champion a the Central Inspection. As a three year old she was again awarded a first and too the title a the Martini-show in Sneek, In the same year, in Leeuwarden, she won a first premium and the reserve championship for 3-6 year olds. Also in 1947, she received a first premium with a choice collection at an agricultural exhibitions in Leeuwarden. In 1948 again a first premium a the Central Inspection and reserve champion of the 3-6 year old mares at the Central Inspection, and in Utrecht at a National Horst Show reserve champion. In 1949 first premium and older mares championship at the Central Inspection. The female, registered animals are of excellent quality, with four designated model and two star. They were all sired by Age 168. Age is from a Danilo mother and Ynte grandmother. This combination is a revival of the prime Alva 133 blood in the basis of the pedigree. Many times Age was very close to being declared preferent, but just did not make it, eventually finishing in breeding class A. According to a report, Age’s descendants had: “Fine gaits, back often a fraction too weak and long, and occasionally a weak position of the hindlegs.” Age transmitted horses with a great deal of breed-typical feature sand golden characters. So far, two daughters of Celma have descendants, being Tilana and Wilinda. Tilana gave birth to 14 foals, 5 mares were registered, who all have descendants. One of them is Ellie pref. She is the mother of Gaije 295, who came from Ermelo with high marks and a favorable report and later underlined these marks by an excellent performance record: Z – dressage and a good showdriving test in Drachten. In 1990, Gaije won the championship of “breeding stallions before the gig”. Among Tilana’s descendants are the fine breeding mares Geke and the preferent Walsdame, who is the mother of the elegant model mare Sjiekedame, who scored 1B at the Central Inspection. 1996 and reached the IBOP with A 93. Other valuable model mares are Rix, who scored high several times at breeding days and Central Inspections and Wiske, who obtained an IBOP A89 with a mark 9 for trot. She was champion in Groningen-Drenthe in 1987. Wilinda became model in 1967. Her report reads as follows- “Good as to type, deep, good withers. Walk and trot smooth and square” Her progeny runs via two daughters who were both granted the model designation: Landsvrouwe 5301 and Oepkju 5357. There is a beautiful colour picture of Landsvrouwe – ridden under the saddle – in Bouma’s “The Friesian Horse” 1979, page 305. Celma was bred and owed by Meint Tj. Postmas of Legemeer, chairman of FPS during 1945-1958, also member of the committee of the Friesian Horse at the 1933-1951 period.
