Grandsire (mothers side) Afke van de Hamelspoel.
Oltman’s performance results state that he is a good walker and trotter, but his movements could be more powerful. His canter is just sufficient; he tends to use the forehand too much. He has ability in harness and dressage, but he seems to lack strength from time to time. His offspring are developed enough, but have long bodies and weak loins. The somewhat short shoulders are well connected. The hooves are of sufficient quality but tend to be a little small. The hock is not functioning sufficiently which means the trot is not well carried. Due to these faults his breeding permit was revoked in 1996. Oltman was Afke’s mother’s father, but these faults in his offspring don’t seem to have influenced her or her foal. Afke is a 1st premie ster crown mare and her foal was rewarded with a third premium at the Australian Victorian Keuring for Friesian horses in 2006.
