Ankje 4649 Model-Preferent.
Ankje as born as a daughter of Noldus 198, Ritske’s full brother on 7 April 1958. In 1957 Noldus was 1A and champion, obtained 1B for performance in 1958. Ankje, measuring 1, 62, became star when three years old. Later she got a pass for type characteristics, which qualified her for the model designation. She reached the age of 27.
Performance Until 1966, Ankje took care of all the farm work she was given. In 1967, she won the Jan Timmer trophy, granted by way of prize of honour for the mare with the best performance in harness. At breeding days she won first prizes for performance in 1971 and 1973. In the ordinary category and the ladies categories she was successful at horse shows, winning first and second prizes. From 1969 and the early seventies, she was successful in the pairs category with the Noldus-daughter Djowke of W. Peenstra. In 1969 this team took pride of place in the ordinary category at the FPS jubilee inspection. The following comment appeared in the paper: “This team stood head and should above all others; they went like clockwork”. The 1971 championship was between Corrie and Aef (Kuipers) and Ankje and Djowke. The arbiter decided in favor of the former team. With W.K. van der Wal at the reins, this team often took second and third prizes.
Breeding Ankje’s offspring comprises eleven foals. Her eldest daughter, Wietske, became star and is the mother of sixteen star mares and the breeding stallion Teake, who increasingly makes himself felt via his son Jurjen, a breeders favorite. One of these star mares, Ankje 7236, (F Hearke), by Djurre, produced the breeding stallion Lute, who scored amply sufficient for performance in Ermelo. A well-know showhorse by Wietske is Lieuwe, total prize money Dfl. 14,000 (single horse driving Dfl. 9320). Teake brought in prize money totaling Dfl. 5855. Breeder Gouke Wijbenga was very successful with the gelding Jitse, son of Bjinse, and Lysebet, daughter of Bjinse, both from Ankje’s breeding group. The group too the best breeding group title at the breeding day in Berjum in 1979, (1977 and 1980: 1B; 1978 1D). In 1979 Durksz wrote – “A very uniform breeding group with smoothly walking, luxuriant horses”. He pictured Jitse (1A breeding day 1976-1981; 1A Central Inspection 1979) as strong, well built and with good gaits”. Lysebet, in 1980 1A at the breeding day 91D Central Inspection) is “a luxuriant, well closed mare with fine gaits”.
Lysebet In addition to the aforementioned success Lysebet could in 1975 be designated star without problems and was awarded 1C. Her descendants certainly pass muster. She started off with three sons by Jochem: Doaitsen, Feitse and Haeye. The first one was show horse owned by J.T. Bouma, Hidaard, the last one was selected for Ermelo, the second one belongs to the cream of our stock of breeding stallions. In Ermelo, Feitse 293 was marked 8 for the basic gaits, (walk, trot and canter), 8 for the driving test, 9 for the show carriage test. He was marked 9 for character, stable behaviour as well as training behaviour. Liskje, daughter of Tamme, born in 1986 received the star designation as a three year old at the inspection in Oenkerk in 1989. Liskje breeds well. In 1995, her neat daughter Ankje fax Fjildsicht won in 1995 the championship at the Central Inspection and in 1996 because reserve champion. Her IBOP show driving test brought her a B 86 and an A 89. In 1996 a full brother of hers was selected for the performance test in Drachten. There is a star daughter as well.
